Why Our Makeup is Safe For Halloween

Why Our Makeup is Safe For Halloween

Halloween can be pretty scary for kids with allergies and sensitive skin. But our pediatrician-approved makeup is perfect for creating show-stopping looks, safely. Read on for some inspiration!

It’s time to get spooky, Sparkle Squad! Halloween is around the corner, and it’s the time of year for young artists to flaunt their most creative looks. The only catch? Not all Halloween makeup is safe for every kid.

For one thing, some Halloween makeup is known to contain harmful ingredients. In 2009, the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics tested ten different face paints and found they were all contaminated with lead. Six out of the ten contained additional heavy metals, while some products labeled “hypoallergenic” actually contained known skin allergens.

This is worrisome for everyone—experts say that there is no safe exposure level for lead—but those with allergies and sensitive skin need to be extra careful about what’s in their makeup.

Luckily, Petite ’n Pretty is here for you! Our formulas are all pediatrician-approved, as well as gluten-free, nut-free, talc-free, and free of parabens and phthalates. Not only is our makeup safe and age-appropriate for kids, tweens, and teens, but it’s also richly pigmented and long-lasting. This makes our products perfect for creating a Halloween look that slays!

3 Ways to Use Petite ‘n Pretty Products for Halloween Makeup

Mermaid Makeup Look

1. Rock a glittery mermaid look

To create a whimsical gaze, line the eyes with “Star Boi” and “Winter La-La Land” from the 9021-Snow Eye and Cheek Palette. Then, spritz on some L.A. Luster Glitter Hair Spray to dial up the sparkle!

Skeleton Makeup Look

2. Make a skeleton look pop

Sure, black-and-white Halloween makeup looks cool on its own. (For a clean kids’ face paint option, check out Blue Squid!) But for a next-level look, just add pink and bronze shimmer from the TropiCali Eyeshadow Palette.

Pumpkin Spice Latte Makeup Look

3. Heat up a Pumpkin Spice Latte look

Use bronze shades from the 9021-Bungalow! Eye and Cheek Palette to give off pumpkin vibes. Top off the Halloween makeup look with the most sparkly lips—layer Glo$$ Balm in “$tocks and Bronze” under 10K Shine Lip Gloss in “Glow Down”—and prepare for all the hearts on your spooky selfies!
