How To Make Fun TikTok Videos

How To Make Fun TikTok Videos

Are you obsessed with TikTok? Same! Whether you’re new to the app or a TikTok pro, there are tons of fun ways to get creative with your content. Here, we’ve rounded up 8 tips for making next-level TikTok videos that stand out, inspire others, and get all the hearts!

Here at Petite ‘n Pretty, we are OBSESSED with TikTok. (We especially love watching your Petite ‘n Pretty makeup tutorials!) There are endless possibilities for making fun TikTok videos, whether you’re new to the app or have been using it for a while. Today, we’re sharing the best tricks and tips for slaying your TikTok content—because as much as we all love scrolling through TikToks, it’s more fun to be creative and make your own!

1.  Catch Up on TikTok Trends

First things first, it helps to get familiar with the content on TikTok before you start creating your own videos. A great way to do that is to see what’s trending on the app. The Discover page is the easiest way to find hashtags, challenges, and sounds that are popular. Sounds are the songs and voice clips that are used in TikTok videos, and you go to the Sounds page to see which ones are trending and get inspired. It is important to use popular sounds in order to make sure people see your fun TikToks!

 2. Decide on Your Niche

Next, think about what your TikTok niche could be. If you’ve noticed, there are different niches on TikTok, also known as categories. For example, there are makeup TikTokers, dancing TikTokers, cooking TikTokers, skit TikTokers, and more! What are your hobbies? What are your favorite TikToks to watch? Explore the different categories and learn which one is your favorite—this will help you focus your content.

If your goal is to grow on TikTok, it is important to stay consistent in the category of your choice. By creating content in a certain niche, you have a better chance of being remembered and standing out

For example, here at Petite ‘n Pretty, our niche is makeup. We focus on kids makeup, teens makeup, and tweens makeup! By focusing on this, we find other people that also enjoy and make the same content that we do. This makes Tik Tok even more fun for us!

There are a lot of things you can do within your niche. Not only do we make makeup tutorials, but we give makeup tips, show swatches, create challenges, do influencer takeovers, and more. Be sure to follow us on our Tik Tokhere for more things Petite ‘n Pretty!

Challenges are all the rage on the TikTok platform! There are so many songs, dances, and makeup challenges that we all know from TikTok. One example is the #DontRushChallenge, where you start the video in your PJs, cover the camera with a makeup brush, and flash forward to your best makeup look!>

It’s even better to make up your own challenge—we had so much fun creating the recent Pass the Lip Gloss challenge! We had our Sparkle Squad record themselves applying lip gloss and passing it to each other. Not only was this super fun for us to create, but it also stands out! What better than to have people around the world recreating your TikTok?!

4. Know What Makes You Stand Out

If you want to shine on TikTok, think about what you have to offer that’s different and unique—something about you that you can be remembered by!

For example, we use our Petite ‘n Pretty products to stand out. All of our products are nut-free, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free, and are also proven safe by pediatricians, dermatologists, and ophthalmologists. It is important for us to teach kids, tweens, teens, and parents about the importance of using products without these harsh chemicals and additives.

You can choose anything to help yourself stand out. It can be as simple as wearing neon shirts in every video or having your pet in all of your content—the only rule is to be totally you!

5. Brainstorm TikTok Ideas

You’re up to speed with all the TikTok trends and challenges. You’ve chosen your niche and decided how to make yourself stand out. Now, let’s get to brainstorming fun TikTok video ideas!

Sit down, take out a pen and notepad (or open the Notes app on your phone) and write down any of the video ideas that come to your mind, no matter how silly they seem. Even if it’s one word or a short phrase, seeing your ideas on paper can help you expand on them and brainstorm even further. Think about the goals you have, the things you like, and the TikToks that you love the most. Jot it all down—and keep your notepad or phone with you at all times so you can write down ideas on the go!

6. Make a Plan

Once you’ve got a list of TikTok ideas, the next step is to make a plan for creating them. Look at your schedule and figure out when you have free time to make TikToks. You might even want to take one day a week to focus on creating content. But don’t be too strict with yourself—the whole point of TikTok is to have fun!

7. Use Effects and Editing

One of the most fun things about TikTok is its built-in editing software. It makes it so easy to learn editing skills and be creative. Adding some bling or a filter to your TikTok can really take it to the next level and make it more entertaining for people to watch. There are endless opportunities to explore and create on TikTok!

 8. Don’t Forget To Have Fun!

Lastly, it is so important to be yourself on TikTok—the rest will come easy! When you’re happy and having fun, it will shine through. Be confident in the TikToks you make! We at Petite ‘n Pretty HQ love seeing your creativity unfold, and we can’t wait to watch all of your TikToks to come.
